Outdoor lifestyle products:

This is a gear review of different products that may appeal to the outdoor minded family.

Engo blister prevention patches:   Adhesive patch that you secure to the shoe not your foot.  Reduces friction to prevent blisters.

I tested out these patches inside a new pair of walking shoes.  My husband did the same.  We found the concept to be interesting, since you don’t have to glue something to your foot. It is hard to figure out though where exactly on shoes you will get a blister and if you are going to.  We both did not get blisters or hot spots on our feet so I guess we can say the Engo blister prevention patches did the job, but who knows, maybe those shoes would not have given us blisters in those spots.

Naked binders: Binders made out of 100% recycled materials.  They are also recyclable and really stylish in their brown paper bag color and bright dash of color along the seam.  They work well and are functional and would be a good addition to your children’s school supplies, instead of the plastic alternative.  Since they are made of recycled paper, I presume they cannot be left out in the rain or a drink poured on its surface could ruin it.

Go Big International Hat:   This is a hat that you can wear on your head of fasten to your helmet.  The hats come in different stuffed animal shapes like lions, elephants, wolves, and bears.  They can make your child look very ferocious and so adorably cute at the same time.  Unfortunately, the hat needs a special clip to be attached to your helmet and I did not have one of these, so I cannot say if they stay on securely or not. They are made for adults and children.

Horney Toad Clothing:  Life time guarantee comes with the clothing

We tried out a variety of their clothing and found all of them to be comfortable.  They hold up well in the wash and if packed inside a messy suitcase they can still be worn without looking frumpy.  Most styles are versatile and can be dressed down or up.  Horney Toad has a commitment to being friendly to the earth so they try to use organic fabric when they can or recycled fibers.  All of the materials feel really nice and are quite comfortable.  We tried the Chipotle skirt, Cassis W’s long sleeve shirt, Yolo long  Bermuda short, Puerto Men’s shorts, Cantina Men’s shirt.  I felt like these cloths are trendy, yet simple in style and complimentary to an outdoor lifestyle.
