The Big Book of Parenting Solutions, Michele Borba
Book Review By Casey Sievila
I am skeptical of many parenting books, but was pleasantly surprised by this one. The book has an easy format that gets you reading about parenting challenges and solutions quickly while respecting the ideas that parents need choices and that not every child is the same. A brief introduction shows you how to use the book, common parenting pitfalls, and how to implement the solutions you choose effectively. Then the book is jam packed with common problems and hard problems you hope you never have to face. Each problem gives multiple options for solutions that address age, severity of the problems, and just plain different approaches for different families. As I read a couple of sections based on current issues we are having in our own house, I found some things I thought would work and some things I didn't believe in, but I always found an approach to the solution worth trying out. This is a good book for parents who want parenting options to solve problems and are willing to work at positive change in their children's lives.
